Crew pouring concrete from a mixer truck on a job site — concrete equipment financing for contractors

    Concrete Equipment Financing for Contractors

Concrete equipment financing for contractors. Concrete pumps, mixer trucks, power trowels, screeds and saws. New or used, dealer or private party. Apply in 5 minutes.

Concrete work runs on timing. Once the truck shows up, there is no waiting on equipment, and a missing pump or trowel can turn a profitable pour into an expensive problem. MarCom Capital helps concrete contractors finance the pumps, trucks, and finishing equipment they rely on, new or used, so the right tools are on site for every pour.

Why Concrete Contractors Finance Their Own Equipment

Many concrete contractors start by hiring out pumping and renting finishing equipment. That works until the schedule fills up. Pumping companies book out during busy season, rental trowels and screeds are not always available the day you need them, and every outside service eats into your margin.

Owning your equipment changes the math:

    • You schedule pours around your jobs, not someone else's calendar
    • You stop paying a markup for pumping on every job
    • You can bid pumping and finishing into your price and keep that margin
    • Your crew works with equipment they know and trust
    • The equipment becomes an asset on your books

A common path is to finance finishing equipment first, such as a ride-on trowel or screed, then add a line pump once you are pumping often enough to justify it. Contractors who pump on most jobs often find a boom pump pays for itself through the subcontracting costs it eliminates.

    Line Pump vs. Boom Pump

A trailer-mounted line pump pushes concrete through a hose and is a strong fit for residential foundations, slabs, walls, and jobs where the pour point is close and accessible. It is generally less expensive to buy and maintain, and easier to tow.

A truck-mounted boom pump places concrete with a hydraulic arm, which lets you reach over obstacles, onto elevated decks, and into tight spots quickly. Boom pumps are a bigger investment and often require a dedicated operator, but they move concrete faster and open up commercial work. Lenders finance both. The right choice depends on the work you do most.

    Financing Used Concrete Equipment

Used concrete equipment can lower your upfront cost significantly, since used machines typically cost 30% to 50% less than new. When financing used concrete equipment, lenders look at:

    • Hours on the pump or machine
    • Boom condition, wear parts, and pipeline on pumps
    • Pump cycle counts and hydraulic system condition
    • Drum and chassis condition on mixer trucks
    • Age, maintenance records, and overall condition
    • Seller type: dealer, auction, or private party

Truck-mounted pumps and mixer trucks are titled vehicles, so the lender is listed on the title until the loan is paid off. In California, heavier diesel trucks are also subject to CARB emissions rules, so confirm compliance before buying a used truck-mounted unit. For private-party deals, the lender typically verifies the equipment and title and pays off any existing lien when paying the seller. Learn more in our used equipment financing guide.

    Packaging Concrete Equipment

Concrete contractors often need several tools at once. Finishing equipment such as a trowel, screed, and saw, plus a trailer, can often be financed together when purchased on the same invoice. That means one approval and one payment for a full finishing setup instead of paying cash piece by piece.
